The Leng Pleng Gig Guide comes out on a Thursday or Friday of every week

Weekly Wrap - Commencing - Thursday the 24th December 2015

Seasons greetings from Leng Pleng !

Please check out the Leng Pleng Gig Guide below to find out all the festive live music happenings on the Cambodian scene.

While you are choosing your favourite location for imbibing yuletide libations, here are a few late Christmas gift ideas:

Asian Flow is another striking excerpt from the 'Live in Concert' DVD released by C-Lounge records. The concert features Ingolv Haaland, the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and a host of special guests – including the incredibly talented Cambodian vocalist Ouch Savy. Asian Flow is a great example of the forward-looking, Cambodian-influenced fusion music being composed and performed by Ingolv Haaland. The live DVD is available for purchase at Monument Books in Phnom Penh.

Java Arts have contacted Leng Pleng to let us know about their latest project – which could possibly be the most exciting arts enterprise ever to arrive in Phnom Penh – The Boat. An opportunity has arisen to convert a 6-floor, 6000sqm floating hotel into a dedicated arts space! The project needs your support to succeed – please check out the video below and get involved via The Boat crowd-funding page.

Conrad Keely, Phnom Penh's most famous expat musician, is preparing a very special edition of his debut solo album Original Machines. The songs on the album were largely written in Cambodia and in the back of a tour-bus on the road with Conrad's band ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead. Over the last few months, Conrad has also been touring his solo show around Australia and Europe. He is creating a special 56-page art-book to accompany Original Machines, complete with original art-work, photography, lyrics and writings. Check out the PledgeMusic campaign page to help make it happen!

Whatever you're up to over the next few days... stay safe out there and... see you around the traps!
